ZEEKR moves the European Union headquarters from Sweden to the Netherlands

Young and promising Chinese electric car brand ZEEKR has announced that it will move its current European headquarters in Gothenburg, Sweden to a new location closer to the event in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Following this move, ZEEKR plans to expand its staff overseas and continues to expand into new markets.

ZEEKR is a Geely-owned electric vehicle brand that continues to maintain its relevance on Electr/y While we may or may not see the 001 FR make its way to Europe as a strong competitor to the Tesla Model S, two other ZEEKR models have already emerged starting their migration from China Before the first births in Sweden and the Netherlands.

Up to this point, ZEEKR’s EU subsidiary has been operating out of Gothenburg near the headquarters of its siblings Geely Volvo, Polestar, and Lynk & Co. I personally visited these companies over the summer and was able to see some of their electric vehicle technology up close.

With overall plans to eventually become a top three luxury electric vehicle maker in Europe, ZEEKR is looking to attract new employees from a broader talent pool and will relocate its headquarters to do so.

According to the new from Car news europeThe reason for ZEEKR’s imminent move south into Europe is to attract a deeper pool of talent internationally. The carmaker plans to bring 80 of its current employees working in Sweden to the new headquarters, which will be based in the south of Amsterdam, near Schiphol Airport.

In addition to the high-level management members moving from Gothenburg to Amsterdam, ZEEKR has shared plans to add additional employees – a staff of approximately 100 people before the end of 2023.

While Amsterdam will now be home to its European headquarters, ZEEKR says it will maintain a consistent presence in Gothenburg near the other brands mentioned above. This current Swedish footprint consists of around 1,000 employees in its technical center plus a further 500 in its design centre.
