The weekend at the US Grand Prix was disappointing for McLaren. Where Daniel Ricciardo and Lando Norris finished fifth and eighth, rival Ferrari performed better. However, Andreas Seidl is satisfied with the Australian.
McLaren boss sees Ricciardo in better shape. The driver obviously struggled to perform in his McLaren early in the season, but he has shown his qualities in the past few races. So Seidl is confident that he will score many points for the team at the end of the season.
“It was definitely a solid weekend of Daniel,” Judges will signify in conversation with Motorsport.com. “Together with Monza, it was his strongest weekend with us. This was probably his best weekend so far, on a track with different kinds of corners. I am very happy that he was able to put together such a weekend. As He’s so strong that he managed to keep Carlos behind him throughout the race. He was under tremendous pressure, so I’m happy with that.”
McLaren and Ferrari in battle
McLaren still has to work hard in the past five races to maintain its third place in the constructors’ championship. The race stable is only 3.5 points ahead of Ferrari, which means that the Italians can already overtake the competitor in the standings in the next race.
