Love for Nature is the title of a new giant mural by contemporary Russian artist Vitaly Tsarenkov, spanning 18 floors of a residential tower in Chelyabinsk, Russia.

Based on the theme of climate change and humanity’s treatment of the environment, it was produced for the recent local urban shaping festival. “When the whole world stands on the threshold of global environmental disasters, many people have not yet realized that the future of our planet depends on everyone’s actions,” Vitaly tells Creative Boom.

“It is impossible to stop all harmful factories at once, but taking the first step towards clean land is not difficult and within everyone’s authority – just by removing the trash after resting in nature.”

Covering an area of 630 square meters and reaching a height of 50 meters, it took Vitaly and two of his assistants more than 16 days to complete the mural. It is one of the most ambitious street art projects to date in Vitaly, where his usual style is influenced by the aesthetics of 8-bit console video games, 3D computer animation, Russian avant-garde, but also engineering education, particularly descriptive engineering and technical drawing – computer drawing. .

Clear straight lines, bright saturated colors, three-dimensional geometric shapes, and minimalist imagery characterize Vitaly’s work. With the nearly perfection and subtlety of his style, street art is not his only medium, as painting and sculpture are also important to his practice. As Vitali said, “One method, different media.”
