Due to an unexpected strike by Channel Tunnel staff, there is currently no train traffic running through the fifty-kilometre-long tunnel between France and the United Kingdom.

As a result, there will be no Eurostar train between Amsterdam and London for an indefinite period. Passengers who wish to travel by train are advised to postpone the journey. Passengers whose trains have been canceled will receive an email with more information.

A wildcat strike puts many Christmas holiday plans in jeopardy. It is not clear how long the strike will last. It is known that an unknown number of train passengers have been affected and are stuck on trains or in stations.

Getlink: Unions do not agree to year-end bonus

Getlink, the French company that operates the Channel Tunnel, announced that French unions did not agree to a year-end bonus of €1,000. Therefore, the unions called for a strike. The unions want to triple this bonus. Getlink is trying to find a solution with the unions to end the strike.
