The Tour de Romandie organization today published the tentative list of participants for the next edition (27 April – 2 May) of the stage race. A look at the start roster tells us that only a few senior riders will participate in the stage race.
Jumbo-Visma, for example, is based on Stephen Croesvik and Sepp Kos in the French-speaking part of Switzerland. The Tour de Romandie is also Miguel ngel Lopez’s first race in a Movistar costume. Swiss cycling enthusiasts will look forward to Mark Hershey, who is part of the (first) pick for the UAE.
We can also name Jack Haig (Victor of Bahrain), Wilko Kildermann (Bora-Hansgrohe), Mori Vincentant (Deckonink-Quick Step), Rigoberto Oran (EF Education-Nebo), Chris Fromm (the emerging nation of Israel) and Richie Port and Geraint Thomas ( Both INEOS Grenadiers) score. Note: There are currently only WorldTeam Teams in the Participant List.
Fast men will also encroach on swords on the Tour de Romandie. Think Matteo Moschetti (Trek-Segafredo), Fernando Gaviria (United Arab Emirates), Peter Sagan (BORA-hansgrohe), Clément Venturini (AG2R Citroën), Phil Bauhaus (Bahrain Victorious), and the young Olaf Koig on behalf of Jumbo -Visma.
Earlier this year, the Tour de Romandie had already presented the next release’s stage schedule. The multi-day cycling race has decided to largely take over the canceled release track in 2020. Participants will begin Tuesday April 27 with a short four-kilometer prologue through the streets of Oron.
On the second day, there is a stage from Aigle to Martigny in the program, followed by a difficult stage with the arrival at Saint-Imier. The Queen Stage is planned during the penultimate stage, when the riders complete the mountain stage to Thyon 2000. The cycle will culminate in the streets of Friborg, where a single 16-kilometer time trial is designed.
