When Anelian Kurivetz met Donald Trump, she had just gotten off the plane. “Now ask 100 Flemish people what you wear as a 20-year-old when you fly from Zaventem to JFK, and from JFK with an eight-hour delay to Mexico. Yes, just wear a jacket, sweatpants and sneakers.”
But what Anelian didn’t know was that as soon as she got off the plane in Mexico, she would be greeted by Donald Trump, who was Miss Universe’s president at the time. “I remember it well. I finally got to Mexico and that door opened and I saw two statues of a woman there, but with 8-inch heels and miniskirts and their hair done like in the movies. And Trump was waiting for us. Then he would come down the entire line for Mass, shake hands with everyone and look at me, up and down, And it goes beyond me. So that was my first contact with Donald Trump and I didn’t like him even then.
