The European Football Association postpones the allocation of the European Championship 2025 to football players

NEON (AP) – UEFA has postponed the allocation of the 2025 women’s championship for several months. According to the Swiss Federation SFV, one of the candidates for organizing the tournament, UEFA wants detailed financial support from interested countries, and therefore has postponed the moment of selection from January to April next year.

On Monday, the Swiss Parliament endorsed the National Football Association’s “prayer”. “The politicians, the public and Swiss football support our candidacy,” said SFV president Dominique Blanc. “Switzerland is the perfect host for this tournament. We have the infrastructure, sustainability, political stability and security.” The intended host cities are Geneva, Zurich, Bern, Basel, Thun, Lucerne, Sion and St. Gallen.

France and Poland have also applied for Euro 2025. Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden want to jointly organize the tournament.

This year’s European Women’s Championship was held in England. English footballers clinched the European title in their country, led by national coach Sarina Wegman.

The Netherlands, which hosted the European Championships in 2017, is working with Germany and Belgium to host the 2027 Women’s World Cup.
