Certification – SPAR has become a top employer in the Netherlands for the third year in a row. This international recognition, awarded annually by the Institute of Top Employers, once again confirms SPAR's interest in good employment practices.
Known for its globally recognized program, the Top Employers Institute supports organizations in assessing, comparing and improving their work environment based on more than 400 HR standards. Only a select number of companies that excel in all essential aspects during the rigorous audit process receive the certification. SPAR performed highly in areas such as talent management, business strategy, work environment, and promoting diversity, inclusion and well-being. Marie-José Rotten, Director of Human Resources and Organizational Development at SPAR: “In these difficult times, we took another great step last year, for example by investing in themes such as participation, personal control over development and vitality.”
Good employer practices
CEO John van der Ent sees everyone in the organization now living the vision of good employment practices. “At SPAR, paying attention to good hiring practices is not a business choice to attract new people. You can't just get a rating like that, and keeping it is not a given.” In 2024, important topics will again be on the SPAR agenda, which will further improve employee happiness, such as mental well-being and solidarity.
Lidl
Supermarket chain Lidl Netherlands has been awarded the Best Employer certification for the seventh time in a row. Furthermore, Lidl can once again call itself the best retail employer in the Netherlands with a score of 93%.
