Today’s postal code lottery took place on Saffierstraat in Diamantbuurt. Fourteen residents jointly share one million euros. The amounts range from €52,632 to €263,158.
One of the winners says he was very lucky to have won the prize. “I’ve been playing for a long time, then not for a while and just now since last year. I’m very happy with him, but I still have to calm down a bit.” And he does not yet know what the man will do with the money. “Maybe I’ll move on and try again with a different zip code.”
The woman who was also allowed to have a sum of money at first didn’t feel like the lottery was in front of the door. “I just got back from work and they called me twice already. I said to myself, ‘Oh my God, go disturb someone else.’ Then they came again and I thought of letting me out for a while and then they were outside with flowers.”
just no
But not everyone on Saffierstraat was so lucky. “I have a GH zip and he signed a GZ,” said a guy who just missed out on the awards. The man will continue to participate in the postal code lottery. “It’s a game of luck and next time you have the same chance as now.”
This is not the first time that an Amsterdam postal code has won an award. Several times the hero zip fell into the city. In 2011, the €25m prize fell to KNSM Island, and in 2015, no less than €43.7m could be distributed to residents who played along Steenderenstraat in Zuidoost.
