Daniel Ricciardo received a special award in his native Australia. He was appointed by the Order of Australia as a member. Ricciardo received this award for his contribution to motorsport and for being an ambassador for motorsports and society.

Ricciardo receives the award for his role as mentor to young drivers and ambassador for Inner Ninja Foundation. In addition, the Perth-born driver supported several charities during the major bushfires in 2019. including the Australian Red Cross and Wildlife Rescue (WIRES).

The McLaren driver is one of seven people to receive an award this year for their contribution to motorsport in Australia. Officially, Ricardo is allowed to add the abbreviation AM to his name with this honorary title.
