The headlines are the highlight of the festival poster, but the biggest surprises are often hidden in a small corner. In “Pearls on the Poster” we present you with future headlines. Based on three videos, we take you through three highlights of the somewhat smaller festival business procession. Today under the microscope: RÜFÜS DU SOL In Sziget 2022.
We can’t imagine life without it this summer RÜFÜS DU SOL. This is how the three Australians are already warming up the Sziget Festival 2022 meadow before Dua Lipa enters the shelves. But then it can also be found in the Lowlands and Pukkelpop! With over 10 years of performing and 4 albums to their name, they are a popular business. For the sake of convenience, we will mention nearly 5 million Spotify streams per month. Stay around and check out how their career took off.

National breakthrough in 2013
The trio was founded in 2010 after several holiday jam sessions in the hippie town of Byron Bay. Playing together was a huge success, because they soon released a number of EPs. Songs like “Paris Collides” and “We Left” were already doing well in their native Australia. The big hit Down Under for RÜFÜS DU SOL came only after the release of the first album: atlas (2013). The album even debuted at #1 on the charts!
The summer album is full of Ibiza house influences. It’s good to mention that atlas It came out in August. In fact, it is winter in Australia. The first single “Take Me” really describes the band’s tendency to take on new adventures and discover places.
International breakthrough for RÜFÜS DU SOL in 2016
In 2016, their second hugely successful album came out Thrives From. Their first single, You Were Right, went viral a little earlier. So far, this is their biggest hit on Spotify with over 146 million streams. With the advent of “Innerbloom” of course. Still good for 123 million streams. On YouTube, the roles are reversed and especially the high-scoring “Innerbloom” clip. These images are just as elusive as gentlemen’s music, with countless abstract images of earthly materials flowing into one another.
Fun fact: At first the band went through life like RÜFÜS. Until they went on a tour of the United States and came across the same name. So they called themselves RÜFÜS DU SOL “After all, no dog would be called that, right?” The first only in the United States. In the end, as of May 2018, the entire world had to live by his new name. Unfortunately, we don’t know if they still treat them with rusks with mice…
Defined Value (2018)
With their third album solace As of 2018, RÜFÜS DU SOL categorically confirms that it has landed on Earth. Some people can still use their numbers Cheap I mention due to addiction but sometimes simple Ibiza house beats. Or through unnoticed speech. But these characteristics combined unambiguously make up her style and voice.
This does not mean that they do not develop. solace And definitely the back and fourth album Give up (2021) comes out of the speakers a bit more aggressively than its predecessors. Award winners in recent years are the legendary mega hit “Underwater” and the seemingly filthy “On My Knees” out of place in a dance floor, with sweat dripping from the ceiling.
It is admirable for men to be so successful on their own. They don’t need much collaboration with other artists. We raised the white flag a long time ago: go see these witches soon at Sziget 2022 or elsewhere if you get the chance! Exercising in front or stretching on the grass and enjoying that cool fresh breeze, it’s all possible.
