A major refurbishment of Almere Centrum train station has not resulted in train passengers giving the station a higher rating. This is demonstrated by NS and ProRail's annual Station Experience Monitor. Train passengers rated the renovated station a 6.8.
The renovation was a major undertaking that included treating the courtyards in front and behind the station and renovating the facades of the station building. The renovation was completed a year ago, but the result last year was exactly the same as it was during the renovation the previous year.

Dronten scores best
Dronten scores the highest among all stations in Flevoland. Dronten station receives an average of 7.04. “It is a beautiful, new station,” says the Dronten station manager. “Good agreements have been made with the municipality to keep the station beautiful and clean.” A year ago, Dronten got a better result. At the time, travelers rated the station there a 7.5.
Almere Poort and Lelystad Centrum performed significantly lower in 2023. The two stations are in the lower regions of the national rankings with scores of 6.42 and 6.39 respectively.
Lelystad wants to improve
Improvements are planned for the Lelystad Centre. “We will create a waiting area at the station where passengers can happily wait for their train,” says station manager Matthijs Peters. “This waiting area will be placed in the central hall. Atmosphereless Lage Zwaluwe is in last place
Lage Zwaluwe station in North Brabant finished last with a score of 4.6. Despite improvements, such as platform refurbishment and lighting, passengers still find the station lacking in ambiance. The station is also located at a great distance from the village and next to the highway.
