After the huge success of the four John Wick films, the film’s mythology has expanded dramatically in many spin-offs. The first spin-off The Ballerina starring Ana de Armas will premiere next year. Next month comes the first spin-off series continental Outside. The full promotion is now official.
The prequel series takes place in the 70’s and focuses on the famous hotel chain ‘Continental’. In the movies, Winston (Ian McShane) is the manager of the Continental Hotel in New York. We will now see how he managed to get this position.
The three-part event explores the origins behind the hotel’s iconic chapter of killers in the world of John Wick through the eyes and actions of young Winston Scott, as he is sucked into hell in 1970s New York City to confront the past. He thought he was left behind.
Winston charts a deadly path through the mysterious hotel underworld in a harrowing attempt to conquer the hotel where he will take his throne in the future.
In addition to a young Winston (Colin Woodell), we also see young versions of Charon (Ayomide Adegun) and Uncle Charlie (Peter Greene). The cast also includes Mel Gibson as Cormac, Katie McGrath as the Judge, and Salai Garnett as the Concierge.
The series will premiere on Peacock in the US on September 22nd. The series can be seen on Prime Video in the Netherlands on the same date.
