Janie and Andrei’s train journey in Episode 3 of I’m thinking of Switzerland Via a beautiful road to the oldest city in Switzerland: Chur. There they pass through the stunning Rheinschlucht. Grand Canyon in Switzerland. An amazing trip takes Janie and Andrei to the Arosa winter sports resort. There the duo joins the Alphorn players in rehearsal and Janie makes real Swiss cheese fondue.

Janie and Andre learn about another Swiss tradition: blowing the alphonse. They meet a group of Alphorn players, including men and women who have been doing it for years. But of course we also have to do it ourselves. It turns out that it is not that simple at all. To get a sound from such a trumpet, a great deal of blowing force is needed. There is also another (meditative) task for Janie.
