QB Darnold jets questionable for Bates, Flacko expected to start

New York Jets midfielder Sam Darnold is expected to play on Monday due to a shoulder injury, and Joe Flacko is expected to start his place against the New England Patriots. Coach Adam Gas said Saturday that Darnold will be sitting in training after the midfielder has had problems throwing the ball. “Unless something strange happens, Joe will be the start of this match on Monday,” said Gass. Drnold twisted the AC joint in his right shoulder against Denver on October 1 and missed two games. He was injured again last Sunday in Kansas City when he took a heavy blow, but he stayed in the match. “I think he started well,” Jas said of Darnold’s coaching Friday. “Obviously he would have done everything in his power to be able to go for this match. As training continued, he felt there were some throws that he was uncomfortable with when he threw them.” Darnold was not happy with the speed or arc of some of the passes he threw, and told the team It wasn’t “I don’t feel well.” “I’m glad he did,” said Gus. “That’s what I think we need to get that connection back. I know that’s devastating for him because he’s always been able to throw the ball the way he needs. I think yesterday was the first time he felt he didn’t feel the way he wanted to head into this match. Darnold has struggled in both matches since returning from the initial hit, throwing only 253 yards with two interceptions. The 35-year-old Flaku will likely make his third aircraft debut. He’s thrown 397 yards with One Touch and One Intercept this season. The 0-8 jets got a post-match farewell week break Monday night, giving Darnold’s shoulder extra time to heal. “This was kind of where my mind went away,” Ghazi said, “Well, if you have that, it might help him.” I don’t think he was thinking about it. Jess said full-back Blake Cashman (hamstrings) and tight end Trifon Wesco (ankle) are excluded from the match against New England. Kicker Sam Vicen (right thigh) was not expected to train questionable to play, which means Sergio Castillo will take over the kicking duties for the third match in a row, defensive line player Quinin Williams (hamstring) and broad future Vyncint Smith (thigh) questionable In both. : https://twitter.com/AP_NFLD, Associated Press, Tennessee Wasak Jr.
