Care home employees over the age of 80 will be the first to receive the vaccine as part of the vaccination program – called Operation Courage.

Hospitals have specialized freezers that can store the vaccine, and are able to inject hundreds of people in a short period of time, without the need to transfer doses.

When ready for injection, the vials are heated to room temperature over a period of two hours, then diluted and withdrawn into needles, and then the difference is six hours to inoculate patients.
