    Most people know director James Cameron mainly for his work symbol picture And finisherFilm series. However he has also made some films that are not part of a series.

    One of these films is called The Abyss and was released in 1989 and stars Ed Harris, Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio, Michael Biehn and others. On a somewhat limited budget of $41 million, it has grossed approximately $90 million worldwide.

    The film later got a remastered version The Abyss: Special Edition. This version is very different from the original. This version also features the conflict between the United States and the Soviet Union.

    The version containing approximately 28 minutes of additional footage first appeared in US cinemas in 1993 and later also on disc. And now this release is back in best quality, something fans have been waiting for for a while.

    On Twitter, Cameron announced that the 4K version of The Abyss: Special Edition It will be released in cinemas (North America) on December 6. The film will then also be released on 4K UHD/Blu-ray.

    The original film has a perfect score of 88 percent on the Rotten Tomatoes Tomatometer, and a similar audience score of 83 percent. “The very beautiful special effects often overshadow the fact that The Abyss is also a thoroughly frightening thriller, with an exciting cast of characters.” According to the critics’ consensus on Rotten Tomatoes.
