Dribergen Ab van den Burg, who has lived in Driebergen since 2008, has written a book titled My Franciscan Journey on Foot, from Florence through Assisi to Rome.

Van den Burg has a passion for hiking. He walked all over the Netherlands and walked European walking routes through Belgium, France, Germany and Switzerland. Made many wonderful hiking trips, in groups and alone. During his travels, he climbed Mount Kenya and Kilimanjaro and toured Morocco, England, Scotland, Iceland, British Columbia and the Himalayas.

After his retirement he went on pilgrimage routes in Europe, towards Santiago de Compostela and Rome. Van de Burg delights with the natural beauty, the physical challenge, and the lovely towns and intriguing monasteries that a Franciscan hike has to offer.

This is why he publishes his story for the first time in his book after seven previous arguments. He takes his readers on a wonderful journey, which is what also makes him known to those without Hajj experience. He alternates his personal travel experience with practical information, road history and pictures of beautiful surroundings. The reader feels like he’s walking along the journey.
