    To enter the United States, an Electronic Travel Authorization (ESTA) is necessary. You can order it online by filling out the order form. As a travel agent, you can refer your client to eVisa services, but it pays to be able to answer your client's pressing questions.

    How long is an ESTA valid for?
    In principle, an ESTA permit is valid for two years after approval. Exceptions to this are travelers holding a passport from Brunei and Hungary; They can only use the ESTA for one year.

    When should you apply for a new ESTA?
    -If you as a traveler have a new passport, including the new passport number;
    -Your name or gender has changed;
    -Your country of citizenship has changed;
    -If your answer to one or more questions changes because your situation changes.

    Do you also need an ESTA if you transfer in the US only?
    Yes, even if you only transfer and therefore do not leave the airport, you need an ESTA.

    When should you apply for a visa instead of an ESTA?
    -If you remain in the United States for more than 90 days;
    -If you visited Cuba on or after January 12, 2021 (since this date, the United States has designated Cuba as a state sponsor of terrorism). You must apply for a visa through the US Embassy in The Hague. NB; Don't you as a traveler, and does US customs still see a stamp from Cuba in your passport? Then there is a high probability that you will be rejected.

    How is ESTA checked?
    Your ESTA will be checked before boarding the plane. This is done using your passport number. The airline checks the ESTA system to see if it is a valid travel declaration linked to your passport number.
