James Seyvart, Bloomberg’s chief crypto analyst, has sparked controversy after making a joke about XRP at a Bitcoin conference. It has attracted international attention after a tweet containing Seyvart’s comments during an interview with BlackRock’s head of digital assets circulated online.
The tweet states that Seyffart's XRP joke drew heavy criticism from the XRP community on social media.

Aware of the backlash, Seyvart took to Twitter and found that the XRP community was trying to delete him for his joke. His initial response seemed casual, suggesting that he wasn’t unduly bothered by the criticism he was receiving.
To all the XRP guys I mentioned. I don’t hate XRP. It was a joke directed at my audience and a joke that went down well. Hell – I fully support Ripple in court against the SEC. I personally think the SEC has overstepped its bounds in many areas including Ripple/XRP.

To address the unfavorable reactions more seriously, Seyfried clarified his views in a subsequent tweet: He has no hate. XRP It was just a joke to entertain his audience.
Additionally, he indicated that he supports Ripple in its ongoing legal battle with the SEC, and denounced what he sees as an assumption of the agency’s jurisdiction.
Seyfart also suggested that the community should rethink its priorities and adopt a more relaxed stance if they feel offended by an off-the-cuff joke. He has repeatedly stressed that he supports Ripple and suggested that such jokes should be taken lightly.
All this comes at a time when XRP is performing impressively. According to CoinMarketCap, XRP was trading at $0.6081 at the time of writing, up 1. 1.87% In the last 24 hours. The increase in the last week was 2.85%.
What’s even more impressive is that XRP has outperformed Ethereum, rising by 34.24% in the past two weeks – CNF reported. Experts are confident about the future of XRP and expect the token to rise.
