Traffic problems in Switzerland due to floods

On the San Bernardino route (Switzerland), the A13 Chur – Bellinzona road has been closed in both directions to Mesocco since Sunday 23 June. A mudslide swept away part of the motorway.

Depending on the destination, holiday traffic can choose other routes:

  • Via A12 Bern – Montreux via Great St Bernard Tunnel
  • Via Austria A13 Innsbruck-Bolzano via the Brenner Pass
  • Via France Lyon – Chambery-Mont Blanc Tunnel RN206
  • Via France Lyon-Grenoble Frejus Tunnel

Floods

A9 Martigny – Brig is closed in both directions between Sion and Sierre due to flooding. Traffic is being diverted there. The duration of the closure is unknown. Furthermore, the Furka and Simplon tunnels in Valais are also closed due to flooding.
