Relatives of the 2018 Parkland attack victims will receive more than $100 million from the United States. The massive settlement ends all lawsuits against the government for negligence by the FBI.

At least 17 people were killed by a former student in an attack on a school in Florida. Five weeks before the shooting, the FBI received information that the perpetrator had purchased firearms and planned to attack a school. However, this information was not shared with the local authorities.

Relatives of the victims filed 40 lawsuits against the government. The Ministry of Justice stated that so far a settlement agreement has been concluded with these parties in the amount of $127.5 million. The statement said the settlement was not an admission of guilt by the state.

At the time, the massacre led to major political unrest and nationwide demonstrations. He was the Parkland Township Police Chief School shooting Dismissed – Temporarily released.

    ‘Coward’

Then President Donald Trump called the policeman who waited outside the school building a coward. Surveillance footage showed the officer, effectively the school’s only armed security guard, standing outside the building while the shooting was still going on.

Gunman Nicholas Cruz admitted in October last year that he had shot and killed 17 victims. He was 19 years old at the time and was expelled from school due to threats and intimidation.
