The racing pigeon has survived a 13,000 km journey from the United States to Australia, but a euthanasia may be killed. The authorities in the country are concerned about the diseases that Joe (named after the next US President Joe Biden) can carry.

Joe disappeared during a race in Oregon in October and recently appeared in the backyard of Australian Kevin Sealy Bird.

According to the Australian, the pigeons looked “tired”. It is suspected that Joe, as called by Silly Bird, flew part of the voyage and then took refuge on a cargo ship.

The man told several media that he had been called up by the Australian Quarantine and Inspection Service. He was asked to hold the bird, which Joe wouldn’t allow. “Pigeons are not permitted to stay in Australia,” a spokesperson for the pigeons told the media.

Any diseases carried by the atmosphere could put birds in the country at risk. It is now important to catch homing pigeons as quickly as possible before moving to their last “sanctuary”: euthanasia.
