An unexpected discovery in Samsung smartphones. The hidden menu on Samsung Galaxy phones allows for efficient troubleshooting.
Although Samsung smartphones have integrated screen recording into One UI (Smart View), it is often not possible to integrate mobile content into large TV screens. Previously this only worked with Miracast devices such as Samsung TVs and Rokus.
As androidpolice.com has now reported, there is now a solution to this problem – via a previously unknown well-hidden menu.
This is how you can enable screen sharing via Google Cast on Samsung phones

In order to mirror your screen, you need to go to the Samsung developer menu. This is completely hidden. To get there, you first need to pull down the Quick Settings and then long-press the Smart Display tile.
- Tap on the three dots icon at the top right and open Settings.
- Open the About Smart View menu at the bottom of the screen.
- Quickly tap 10 times on the part of the screen that says Smart View.
- When prompted, enter this password: #00rtsp00
- With the Developer Options menu open, turn on the Google Cast toggle button.
You can now turn off quick settings, tap Smart View as usual, and view all Chromecast, Android TV, and Google TV devices. The developer menu is not available unless you repeat the above steps.
If you want to try it first, write down this password. It is recommended that you test only this setting and not other settings as well.
How to turn your Samsung into a portable monitor
Follow the mentioned steps to access the developer menu. Activate the “Start SecondScreen” switch there. Then tap on these same words to open the settings for this feature. Here you can choose if you want low lag or smooth video.
Once the feature is enabled, press Windows key + K on your computer keyboard and select your phone from the list. Windows only supports 16:9 aspect ratios, so black bars appear on your screen. The function is turned off after each use. So it is important to remember the password.
