The Netherlands U15 national team played a training match with the United States national team on Friday evening. Maria Van Courtenhove's team was able to keep up with the level of the Americans, but lost in the end with a score of 0-2.

In the first half, the Dutch national team got acquainted with the laws of international football. The Under-15s had a free-kick themselves, but the visitors came out quick in the conversion. The America striker moved away smartly and hit the target. The score was 0-2 before the end of the first half. A mistake in building the Dutch team was punished by the Americans.

The Dutch team's performance improved in the second half. The game went evenly and the Netherlands became increasingly dangerous, but due to long shots and corner kicks, the ball did not go in on Friday – at the Sportpark de Horsterhoek in Schalkhar.

KNVB coach Van Cortenhove is proud of her team. “It was a great performance today. Germany lost 4-0 to the same America. We just played a very good game.”

“The difference is in the details. Acting faster, making choices faster. America does everything at the highest pace, but we have maintained this pace well. As you can see, our players are now really catching up to this level, while they played against Belgium.” “May is still having difficulty maintaining this level throughout the match.”

After international matches against Belgium, England and the United States, the under-15 season was over. “This group has to move up to the under-16s. After that, a completely new group will join us. Then we start again, but that's also the fun thing about this job. This is what you do it for, to experience that progression up.” Close,” concluded Van Cortenhove.
