SBB asks FLIRT Evo to deploy it in Switzerland and France
Swiss transport company SBB has signed a contract with train builder Stadler for the production and delivery of 33 new FLIRT EVO train sets. The recall order is part of the largest tender in Swiss railway history for the delivery of up to 510 trains of this type.
From the end of 2030, trains will offer direct connections every 30 minutes on regional routes between northwestern Switzerland and Alsace.

Couples crossing borders
Flirt EVO train sets have two integrated traction systems and a rail safety system to operate in both Switzerland and France. In addition, a maximum of three FLIRT Evos can drive in France. In Switzerland, up to four couples can ride at the same time.
FLIRT trains have been improved and improved in terms of overall capacity. They provide extra space for bicycles, strollers and larger forms of luggage. Like all other trains, these trains are also available for passengers with limited mobility. Each Flirt EVO has a total passenger capacity of 146 seats but can also be connected to other pairs for 292 or 438 passengers.
