Possible consequences on Earth after a strong solar flare
Communication waves, electricity networks, and navigation signals may be disrupted. The greatest danger is to spaceships and astronauts.

The consequences of a strong solar flare could hit Earth in the coming days. The US space agency NASA announced that one of the most violent solar flares in recent years was observed on Friday.
She added that such explosions could disrupt communications waves, electricity networks, and navigation signals, among other things, and also pose a danger to spaceships and astronauts.
The Sun's activity has been increasing again since December 2019. Approximately every eleven years, in the so-called solar cycle, there are phases of weak and strong activity. The sun is currently approaching its maximum.
