Polestar has an “aerodynamic electric SUV” ready in the wings, and it’s already lifting one corner of the veil today. It’s not all about styling yet, because it will still look neat under the fabric. Hand in hand with the XC90?
Polestar told us that production of the Polestar 3 will not take place in China, but at Volvo’s plant in Ridgeville, South Carolina, in the United States. At this factory, which was founded in 2015, the S60 is currently rolling off the production line. In addition, everything is prepared for the production of the next generation of the XC90.
This new XC90, which should go into production from 2022, will have an all-electric variant. It is not yet clear whether the Volvo SUV will use a separate electric platform for this purpose or whether the new platform will allow both combustion engines and all-electric versions.
