The airline has ordered a total of 50 Airbus A220-300 aircraft, but reserves the option to purchase another 30 of this type.

Since 2016, when airBaltic began using the Airbus A220-300, the airline has carried more than 6,505,932 passengers with it.

So far, most passengers have traveled to destinations such as Amsterdam, Paris, London and Moscow. In total, airBaltic has flown more than 78,246 flights and more than 175,312 hours on the Airbus A220-300.

As of May 2020, airBaltic operates all flights exclusively with Airbus A220-300 aircraft. This decision simplifies fleet maintenance and provides additional aircraft efficiency benefits.

The performance of the Airbus A220-300 has exceeded the airline’s expectations through its ability to deliver better overall performance, fuel economy and comfort to both passengers and staff. The new aircraft provides an excellent flight experience with benefits for passengers such as wider seats, larger windows, more room for hand luggage, improved facilities and other improvements.

The Airbus A220-300’s high-quality air filtration system is equipped with a High Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filter, which provides the best level of filtration currently available for recirculated cockpit air, from the moment passengers board the aircraft, throughout the flight and until passengers disembark. The air in the cockpit is carefully controlled and recirculated frequently to ensure that all air is replaced 20-30 times per hour.

In addition, the new aircraft is noticeably quieter – with a noise level four times lower. In addition, it is currently the most environmentally friendly commercial aircraft in the world, with the Airbus A220-300 being the first aircraft to have a completely transparent life-cycle environmental statement, helping to reduce carbon dioxide and nitrogen oxide emissions by 20% and 50%, respectively. .
