OpenCore and Big Sur: My hackintosh updated, for the last time?

Theodore Meeks, February 9, 2021

I almost did after testing my excellent Mac mini M1 for two months, but I haven’t given up on piracy yet. Enjoying two Macs within easy reach [enfin, un vrai Mac et un faux, ndlr], I updated it to allow it to play its role in the Mac platform for a few more months. If you missed the previous episodes, you can learn everything about the hackintosh since its inception at this address.

The visual part of the hackintosh, the computer itself is hidden under the desk.

Compared to the tower I built in mid-July 2016, few components have changed. The Core i5 processor is still a Skylake generation, the very latest at the time. Two years later, I swapped out my Nvidia graphics card with an AMD model to get closer to my Macs with drivers provided by Apple. A little over a year ago, I switched to an NVMe SSD to get closer to the performance of modern Macs.
