Nine knights from WorldTour at the start of the Santos Cycling Festival

    Friday January 15, 2021 at 9:04 pm

In addition to INEOS rider Richie Port and James Whelan of EF Education-NIPPO, seven more riders from WorldTour will appear at the start of the Santos Cycling Festival, which starts next Thursday. Among them is Chris Harper from Jumbo-Visma.

At the start of November, it was announced that the WorldTour Tour Down Under will not be taking place this year. The stage race was soon replaced by a four-day men’s and women’s road race, as part of the larger Santos Cycling Festival. The starting field is made up of Australian teams and riders, who will be at home in Australia during this period.

Port Wylan will be part of the Garmin Australia team in the four-day race, which will wear the Australian national team uniform. Harper is part of Cervélo Tonsley Village as a guest driver. Team BikeExchange has its own team initially with Cameron Mayer, Luke Dorbridge, Alex Edmundson, Caden Groves, Lucas Hamilton and Damian Howson.

Team BikeExchange also participates in a women’s race with a team. The team brought in Jessica Allen, Grace Brown, Lucy Kennedy, Sarah Roy, and Alexandra Manley (guest rider) at the start. He will be joined by Trek-Segafredo’s Lauretta Hanson in Team Garmin Australia by Canyon SRAM Neve Bradbury and Sarah Gigante (TIBCO-SVB).
