Loes Gunnewijk completed the women's selection for the Olympic Games. The national coach will select Elin van Dijk, Demi Vollering, Marianne Vos and Lorena Webes this summer. This means that Regan Marcos and Shirin van Anerweg, among others, have been excluded.

For a long time it has been a dilemma to select riders for the Olympic Games in Paris next summer. With only four places for the road race and two riders in the time trial – time trial riders also have to ride the road race – there has been a lot of speculation about how the places will be filled.

Therefore, national coach Junwijek selected a team with many leaders. On the course in Paris, fast women like Marianne Vos (Visma | Lease a Bike) and Lorena Wiebes (SD Worx-Protime) look like they have a chance of winning a medal, as does Tour de France Femmes winner Demi Wohlring (SD Worx). -Protime). There are medal chances in the time trial for Van Dijk (Liddle Trek) and Fullering.

News about the selection came across Cycling online, but that later led to the message being taken offline again. Official confirmation from KNWU and NOC*NSF has not yet been made.
