The Nepalese government decided that Nepalese residents were no longer allowed to fight in Ukraine. Many men were dead or missing.

At least ten Nepalese men have died recently. He writes that dozens more are missing Watchman.

The majority of Nepalese men fought on the Russian side. Nepal demands that Russia return the remaining Nepalese fighters and compensate the families of the dead soldiers.

According to government data, about two hundred Nepalese citizens have joined the Russian army. About a hundred of them are currently missing. A small group of Nepalis is fighting on the Ukrainian side.

Nepal temporarily suspends all work permits. “We are doing this to protect our people,” said Nepali Foreign Ministry Director Kabiraj Upreti. Without a work permit, Nepalese migrant workers are at greater risk. The state does not help people who do not have a work permit and their families are not compensated if they die.

Russia is actually trying to recruit foreign mercenaries

The Nepalese government's decision comes one day after Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree making Russian citizenship more quickly available to foreign mercenaries. Putin hopes this will attract more mercenaries to fight in Ukraine. Both Russia and Ukraine are trying to prevent staff shortages.

The Nepalese people have often fought alongside the armies of other countries, such as the armies of the United Kingdom and India. These countries have signed agreements with the Nepalese government. Russia doesn't have that.
