PowerToys from Microsoft have always had a permanent place on our blog. Over the years, the free tool has become more and more powerful and offers several Windows assistants in one program. Now another function will be introduced soon, called PowerOCR. It has been in development for a long time and is currently being tested. To put it simply: PowerOCR reads text from images so you can continue to use them. How can you imagine it? Very simple, look at the GIF at the top of this paragraph. Once the new functionality is permanently installed in PowerToys, we will tell you here again.

Microsoft PowerToys is a tip when it comes to having a bunch of useful tools on your Windows operating system. Features include:

    • FancyZones: Allows you to customize the split screen zones when multiple programs are open
    • PowerRename: context menu extension to rename multiple files in one step
    • PowerToys Run: Quick launch of frequently used programs
    • ColorPicker: Sets the color code for pixels on the screen
    • Shortcut Guide: Displays a list of shortcut keys while holding down the Windows key
    • File Explorer Extensions: Shows previews of Markdown and SVG files in Windows Explorer
    • Image Resizer: a context menu extension for zooming in and out of images
    • Keyboard manager: select key combinations
