Microsoft Outlook, OneDrive, and SharePoint are down for many users around the world

You may encounter some hitches with Outlook this afternoon. It appears that the service is down for many users around the world at the moment. According to Down Detector, the outage began around 12:45 PM ET and appears to be mainly affecting those in the US and Europe.

According to the Office service status page, Microsoft services reports that everything is running smoothly. However, in an update posted on Twitter, Microsoft says it is currently investigating issues accessing Outlook on the web.

Notably, Xbox Live is now disabled as well. It’s possible that Microsoft is experiencing a wider outage of its services.

Update 1 (November 10) – The outage has been extended to OneDrive and SharePoint Online
