Facebook is at the bottom! Thousands of users across North and South America have reported a complete blackout or issues with their news feed on their desktop site and app.

The social media platform is seeing disruptions across North America, with major cities such as Chicago and Boston in the United States, along with Montreal in Canada and Mexico City in the south and parts of South America.

Issue reports began slowing down accessing DownDetector.com at around 4 PM ET as users reported problems with the latest news, logging in, or accessing the entire platform.

Both the app and the desktop site seem to run into some vulnerabilities, with over 11,000 users experiencing issues.

DailyMail.com has contacted Facebook for comment and has not yet received a response.

DownDetector, which monitors the online platform service, showed release reports starting at 3:40 PM ET with 36 complaints and quickly climbing to over 11,000.

The biggest problem with users seems to be the total blackout.

However, users got reloaded again and again without any success.

Although blackouts have hit North and South America, they appear to be concentrated in specific regions.

In the United States, the number of users has decreased from New England, the Chicago area, and parts of the Midwest.

Then, Mexico City and Guadalajara, Mexico, also have problems with the social media site.

Peru and Sao Paulo in South America are shown in fiery red on the DownDetector map, with Montreal in Canada to the north.

Many people are still working at home amid coronavirus lockdowns, and they joke that without Facebook they have to do real work.

Others use their accounts to work, which makes them very upset when the site goes down.

Facebook Messenger was also down on Wednesday afternoon.

DownDetector.com showed the reports at approximately 1:35 PM until 3:30 PM.

Several users were unable to receive messages, connect to the server, and log into the platform.
