ABU DHABI — Etihad Airways will temporarily scale back its own flying between Abu Dhabi and Frankfurt beginning in May 2026, reducing service from two daily Etihad-operated flights to one as the carrier leans further into a partnership-led strategy for the German market.
The schedule change, filed by Etihad Airways (EY), is set to take effect May 1, 2026, and will coincide with the launch of Condor-operated Airbus A330-900neo flights under a codeshare arrangement with Etihad. While Etihad will fly fewer aircraft on the route during the summer season, the overall market capacity between Abu Dhabi International Airport (AUH) and Frankfurt Airport (FRA) is expected to remain steady.

Summer 2026: Etihad Reduces Its Own Flights, Condor Steps In
Under the revised plan, Etihad will operate one daily flight in each direction using the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, while Condor will operate a second daily roundtrip flight using the Airbus A330-900neo. The Condor flights will be marketed through Etihad’s codeshare structure, allowing passengers to book the service with either airline’s flight numbers.
