With the Apple Watch, multiple SIM is a requirement. Vodafone calls the OneNumber multi SIM number. The Dusseldorf-based company has greatly expanded this OneNumber functionality. Up to ten devices can be accessed under the same phone number and at the same tariff. Until now, the limit was five SIM cards. Since all devices can be accessed under the same phone number, you can also leave one cell phone in the car and carry the other with you—both will always ring.
Unique to Vodafone: Call forwarding between multiple SIMs
There is another innovation that is unique to Germany: calls can now be easily transferred from device to device. This is interesting if, for example, you already have a mobile phone in the car and another in your pocket. Then, you can start the conversation on one cell phone and transfer the conversation to the other cell phone when you leave or get in the car. This is also useful if you accept a call on your smartwatch because you don’t have your cell phone close at hand. According to Vodafone, to receive a call, it is enough to dial *53 code on the target device.
So that you always have an overview when using up to ten devices, you can now enter an individual device name for the main card and each additional card in the Vodafone customer app (MeinVodafone). In addition, all SIM cards are assigned to a contract as part of the Vodafone OneNumber and therefore also appear on the bill.
Depending on the end device used, Vodafone OneNumber is available either as a classic SIM or as an eSIM. Private customers pay €5 per month for each Vodafone OneNumber. Attention: in the tariff with an unlimited data volume it is 10 euros per month. There is also a one-time connection fee of €39.99 per reservation. The prerequisite for using Vodafone OneNumber is Black, Red, Smart, Mini or GigaMobil tariff.
