But on Thursday afternoon, his dream came to an abrupt end: the teenager, unable to swim, sank off the coast of Ostend, due to a violent drowning. “In a few seconds, this is fatal, although there are saviors.”

The message from the Prosecutor’s Office in Bruges is quite clear: 17-year-old Chicina Fina sank from Ukel due to a strong current. Then the sea seemed flat and calm, but a strong current was already under the surface of the water. As the upper current sends water ashore, the water must also flow back into the sea. This again flows along the bottom.
