Moscow and the Trump administration appear to have reached an agreement on a one-year extension last fall, but more time appears to be needed to talk about freezing the current nuclear arsenal. It is the last major treaty between the great powers on arms control. This means that the stock of Russian and American nuclear weapons will be reduced to 1,550 practical warheads each.
