After a year of searching for UFOs, or unidentified flying objects, NASA has found no evidence of extraterrestrial life. However, the US space agency is not leaving it at that. With more specific research and new technologies, NASA will continue to investigate what UFOs are and where they come from.

“It's in our DNA to explore and ask questions about why something is the way it is,” said NASA Administrator and American politician Bill Nelson, who attended the press conference where the UFO report was presented. According to the report, several reliable sources reported the presence of flying objects that could not be immediately identified.

NASA itself does not talk about UFOs, but rather about UAPs — unidentified “anomalous” phenomena — because the word UFO would create negative associations due to conspiracy theories. “We have found no evidence that UAPs originated from extraterrestrial locations,” Nelson said.

However, NASA continues to investigate these strange objects. Nelson said the universe “doesn't stop at the edge of the solar system.” He believes there is life out there anyway, given the number of stars (galaxies).

Nelson also said NASA hopes that with NASA's involvement, the discussion about UFOs will no longer be about sensationalism, but about science.

    artificial intelligence

To properly continue the investigation of UFOs, NASA states that artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning are necessary. Machine learning is a form of artificial intelligence that uses processed data to improve performance. According to NASA, the current techniques and devices used to investigate UFOs are not sufficient to draw correct conclusions. However, current monitoring technologies, such as satellites, must also be used.

NASA's Nicholas Fox said at the press conference that UFOs are “one of the greatest mysteries on Earth.” According to Fox, this is partly due to the poor quality of the data. For example, eyewitness accounts are often incomplete or inconsistent.

Two years ago, NASA also published a report on UFOs. Until then, no evidence of aliens had been found.
