Specifically, the discussion will revolve around export restrictions to China that the United States wants to impose on ASML. The country has previously submitted a request to the Netherlands for this purpose. Reuters news agency reported that Alan Estevez, head of US export policy, is coming to the Netherlands to further discuss the request. This order means that the United States wants to prevent ASML from exporting semiconductor equipment to China.

“The Netherlands always has good discussions with our partners. The meeting of officials on Monday is an example of this. “It is one of the many ways in which we communicate,” said the Dutch ministry, which stresses that the Netherlands itself is responsible for the country’s export policy and that applications for export licenses are evaluated. On a case-by-case basis.”
