The Frenchman later said in an interview that he heard someone screaming that there had been a stabbing. Then he and his friend went to investigate. He is also said to have assisted the policewoman who eventually shot the suspect.
Temporary work visa
Guerot received much praise in Australia for his brave actions. When it turned out that he only had a temporary work visa, there was a lot of political support for him to stay permanently.
