Poland and Wales can continue to hope to participate in the European Championships in Germany next summer. Poland beat Estonia 5-1 in the European Championship qualifiers, while Wales beat Finland 4-1. Poland and Wales will meet next Tuesday in the final, and the winner will play in the European Championship group with the Netherlands. Ukraine, Iceland, Georgia and Greece can also continue to hope.

    Poland – Estonia 5-1

In the middle of the first half, Poland led 1-0 when Przemyslaw Frankowski scored a goal with the outside of his foot after a good pass from Jakub Piotrowski. When Estonia found themselves down to ten men shortly after Maxime Paskuzzi picked up a second yellow card, it became an impossible task for the visitors.

Piotr Zielinski headed the lead early in the second half and Piotrowski scored a wonderful goal. Former NAC Breda player Karol Mets scored a 4-0 own goal and former Feyenoord player Sebastian Szymanski scored from close range to make it 5-0. Martin Vitkal was 5-1 just for the stats.

    Wales – Finland 4-1

Wales got off to a great start at home: after just over two minutes they made it 1-0 thanks to a rebound from David Brooks. In the 38th minute, Neco Williams made it 2-0 with a beautiful free kick. Teemu Pukki made it interesting just before half-time, by keeping his cool one-on-one with goalkeeper Danny Ward. However, after a free kick, Brennan Johnson decided the game just after half-time: 3-1. The score also became 4-1, when Daniel James was punished for clumsily losing the ball.

    Other results:

Bosnia and Herzegovina – Ukraine 1-2
    Israel – Iceland 1-4
    Georgia – Luxembourg 2-0
    Greece – Kazakhstan 5-0

    Final match of Group A:
    Wales – Poland

The final match of the second group:
    Ukraine – Iceland

The final match of the third group:
    Georgia – Greece
