Play an action movie and it will likely be released in the US. Is there a zombie outbreak? United State. Now that's not so strange: Hollywood is located in that country. However, this one is less explainable (although it depends on who you ask): most UFO sightings occur in the western United States.

Kirkpatrick releases map of America's UFO hotspots:

“Geographers at the University of Utah — working with recently retired Pentagon chief Dr. Sean Kirkpatrick — analyzed nearly 98,000 UFO reports over a 20-year period across the 21st century, starting in 2001… pic.twitter.com/E0DbTizsla

    98,000 views UFOs

It's not clear if there are actually more UFOs flying in this part of the world, but at least they have been spotted there in the past 20 years. The University of Utah has conducted research into the influence of local environmental factors that may influence UFO sightings. Researchers discovered that many UFOs have been spotted in the United States because there are wider, open spaces and it is easier to spot something strange in the sky.

The researchers analyzed nearly 98,000 UFO sightings that occurred over two decades: from 2001 to 2020. This data is not stored by the police, but by an organization called the National Center for UFO Research. For example, researchers looked at the weather: How many clouds are there, and how much light pollution? Additionally: Isn't there a military base or airport nearby? It turns out: Many UFO hotspots appear to be located near airports. People saw something, but it was probably a man-made plane and not a space plane. The results of the research were published in scientific reports.

    Foreign object reporting point

It's a rather strange study, because it attempts – just like UFO sightings themselves – to explain something that is difficult to prove retrospectively. In addition, one of the researchers also points out that in today's world full of cameras and sensors, it is almost impossible not to see a UFO. For us humans then: who knows what technologies the aliens might use…

These kinds of American sightings make you wonder what you should actually do in the Netherlands if you see a UFO. There is a website for that: Ufomeldpunt.nl. For example, you can see that a green ball was spotted last night in Herehogard that was much faster than the plane. But also these moving objects were seen in the sky near Leeuwarden on 24 February: However, this seemed inexplicable: it has now been given the designation “explained”.

    Unexplainable things

The Netherlands also seems to have a kind of Western United States, the Susterberg. Most of the UFO reports were made there between 2011 and 2020. In the Netherlands, the number of UFO reports is also not bad: 8,220 reports were filed between 2011 and 2020, and in our country, the densely populated Randstad area is where this phenomenon occurs In most cases. However, this can also be explained: more people live there, and therefore there are greater chances of people believing they have seen something. But there is still a huge discrepancy with American research. And the fact that Soesterberg is very famous for UFOs, is completely consistent with research conducted from the United States: after all, the Soesterberg air base is located there. No wonder 126 reports came from there. Although something strange is happening: that base has been closed since 2008…

In short, many unexplained things keep happening around unexplained things. Furthermore, this will not necessarily decrease in the near future, given the fact that NASA now has a UFO director and given the large number of AI image generators now available.
