AddSecure has won a large order in Switzerland

A joint venture between Switzerland's LOSTnFOUND AG, part of AddSecure, and Austria's Kapsch TrafcCom has been awarded a contract by the Swiss Federal Office of Customs and Border Protection (BAZG) to provide hardware and services for the national truck toll system.

The total size of the project is approximately 54 million euros and will last for eight years, with the possibility of an optional two-year extension. In a 50:50 joint venture with Kapsch TrafcCom, a globally recognized provider of transportation solutions for sustainable mobility, the project focuses on customer service, vehicle equipment and data collection for trucks weighing more than 3.5 tons.

    Modules on board
The project involves providing GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) capable units on board the charged vehicles, recording the GNSS data recorded by the units and sending them to the federal office responsible for HVF III and customer service.
To equip trucks weighing more than 3.5 tons with an on-board GNSS unit, attention is paid to the on-board unit itself and basic operations such as vehicle registration, delivery and device repair. Kapsch TrafcCom devices are TÜV certified and proven to be durable in their class.

    Online service portal
The on-board unit determines waypoints using GNSS localization, records trailer parameters and gross weight and transmits this driving data via the mobile communications network to the back office/IT system of the joint venture provider. Driving data is prepared there and then transferred to BAZG for processing.
Customer service includes an online service portal that supports vehicle management. Requests, reporting of malfunctions and replacement of the on-board device are made via the service portal in German, French, Italian and English. There is also a special emergency solution for entering or modifying data later. The hotline also provides vehicle owners with personal support.
