newly It has become known that Dutch singer Anouk wants to return to the competition in 2024. Anouk competed in the 2013 competition for the Netherlands. He is seen as the artist who made the Netherlands believe in Eurovision again, after not being able to reach the grand final since 2004. This singer took the stage after an internal selection with the song “Birds,” and finished at 6y Place (16th) in semi-final 1, and in the final 9y 26th place in the 2013 Grand Final.

Why did Anouk want to return in 2024?

The reason Anouk wants to return to the competition in 2024 is November 3rdResearch and development In 2023, Anouk releases a new album entitled “Dina and Jim”. This album has what Anouk calls “the killer song.” That would probably do well in a competition. This also happened in 2012 when Anouk heard a killer song on her then current album “Sad Sing-Along Songs” which is “Birds”. Which she came up with on the 9thy (or 26) in the 2013 Eurovision Grand Final.

Why would the Dutch selection committee choose another solution?

The reason the Dutch selection committee chose another solution is that the application window was already open when Anouk proposed her selection internally. This would not be fair to artists who have already submitted a song to compete in the internal selection. Besides this, it is would jeopardize the credibility of the selection committee, Especially after the backlash, Mia Nicolai and Dion Cooper were internally selected for the 2023 competition in the Netherlands. Another thing was that Anouk was unable to postpone the release of her album, Because it is followed by a series of sold-out concerts. Overall, it would be very difficult for Anouk to be chosen to fly the Dutch flag again.

Anouk has been very sporty about not participating in the 2024 Eurovision Song Contest. She stated that she understands that there are no negative feelings at all.
