Switzerland secured a point in the European Championship qualifiers on Sunday in a stunning display. National coach Murat Yakin’s team tied against Belarus with a score of 3-3 in front of its fans. In Pilsen, the Czech Republic had some difficulties with the Faroe Islands.

Xherdan Shaqiri gave Switzerland the lead in St. Gallen just under half an hour later. The Chicago Fire midfielder placed the ball beautifully from the edge of the box into the top left corner.

In the second half, Belarus overturned the deficit. After an hour of play, the visitors equalized through Max Ebong, who scored with his head after a perfect cross from the left side. Eight minutes later, Denis Poliakoff gave his country the lead with a beautiful header.

The final stage was amazing. Dmitry Anlevsky thought he would give Belarus the three points with a score of 1-3, but the Swiss managed to score another point. Manuel Akanji scored the equalizer with an assist and Zaki Amdouni scored the equalizer shortly after.

Because of the draw, Switzerland could lose top spot in Group I later in the evening to Romania, who will play another match. The Romanians start their home match against Andorra at 8.45pm. The Swiss are currently two points ahead of Romania.
