Viewers can’t get enough of the creepy alien stories in “Encounters.”
In an exclusive interview with ComicBook.com, Yoon Motzkin, Director Encountersseries, they had hundreds of stories at their disposal when developing the series. So, they already have a set number ready to create new episodes for Netflix.
A more diverse perspective
He revealed: “Well, I have a list of about a hundred stories, so if people watch the series and like it and want more, we are ready to do additional (episodes). We can do eight more episodes starting tomorrow. There are a lot of stories.”.
Motskin then revealed his philosophy in the four episodes Encounters Which they produced for Netflix. Part of this included exploring UFOs and aliens from a more diverse perspective. This doesn’t just mean stories from the United States, but stories from around the world, including Europe, Asia, and Africa.

Another important factor in how we decide which stories will be told in the first season is time, because a story about a UFO encounter in the 1970s will be different than a story from the 1990s or 2000s. They specifically think about how popular culture influences those stories.
“We’ve all heard about close encounters of the third kind. We want to show a story of maybe the first kind, where all you see are lights in the sky, and then maybe spaceships, and then maybe a real being, and then maybe there’s even some kind of interaction and what the effect of Those meetings are on the people.”.
Every story is different
“Some people had negative experiences, some people had positive experiences, so we wanted to show a variety of stories, and I think we came very close to that. In reality, each story is very different.”. Looking at Encounters On Netflix.
