Miyazaki’s Studio Ghibli is one of the most beloved film studios of all time. The director appears to have ended his career as a filmmaker ten years ago with The Wind Rises, but has now returned for the last time. The boy and the heron.

The film had almost no marketing besides a poster. The film has been released in Japan, but no trailer has been released for it or has not been previously released. A unique choice, but one that worked. The movie has already grossed close to $40 million in Japan alone.
The US website Fandando now has the first four stills from The boy and the heron released and it was announced that the film will be shown in US cinemas later this year.
